The Field Team Leader Course provides participants with the skills and knowledge to be able to respond and control a Level 1 Incident and manage a NSW SES team using local or initial response resources.

Target Audience:

Members developing in a leadership role in Incident Management or in the field

Learning Outcomes:

  • PUAOPE012 Control a Level 1 incident

Content:

  • Level 1 Incident Controller role and responsibilities
  • Work, health and safety, and media
  • Planning the route and establishing control
  • AOLR decision making model
  • Developing an Incident action plan

Learning Methods and Duration:

This course is conducted over a series of training days and/or evenings. The course is structured as a mix of information giving and practical activities. 
Course Duration: 5 hours
Assessment time: 2.5 hours (Scenario only)

  • Field Operator or Incident Management Foundation Level Courses
  • Be a field operator or an Incident Management officer
